Renowned Italian writer Dacia Maraini, the paladin of new South American literature Héctor Abad Faciolince, and Nobel Laureate Orhan Pamuk are three of the bylines ensuring the continuity of the FMR tradition: great writing and magnificent photography, together offering a distinctive view on Art in all its forms. From Pamuk’s unique concept museum – with photography by Massimo Listri – where each artifact is evocative of a long-lost love, to the minimalist interiors of Danish painter Vilhelm Hammershøi, populated by enigmatic female figures; and from sculptor Francesco Pianta’s refined and extravagant carved wooden figures in the Scuola Grande di San Rocco to a personal and largely overlooked portrait of the antiquarian and archeologist Winckelmann. The recurring sections include essays by Dacia Maraini and Héctor Abad Faciolince; a review of Futurist Aeropittura (Aeropainting) and a commentary on auctions of the work of great female painters, still subject to sharp price fluctuations.
