People play a rather subordinate role in Serge Ramelli’s photos. What matters is the setting, the mood, the light and the surroundings.

Typical elements and sights are always depicted as no visitor to the city has ever seen them, except in their dreams – or in a movie. Because that is what Ramelli is a master of: elevating everyday scenes to cinematic ones. His photographs show iconic places such as Times Square and the Empire State Building in a new light and invite you to discover the city from a dreamlike perspective.
