To mark the 700th anniversary of the death of Dante Alighieri, Italian artist Mimmo Paladino has illustrated the complete text of Dante’s epic masterpiece, the Divine Comedy, with 50 original lithographs. In this beautifully printed book, edited by noted art historian Sergio Risaliti, Paladino has captured the unrestrained imagination and expressive force of Dante’s classical narrative poem. This exceptional publication includes essays by Risaliti, literature professor Riccardo Bruscagli, author and curator Cristina Acidini, and Giorgio Bacci, a professor of cultural studies at the University of Florence.  

About the Author

Sergio Risaliti is an art historian, curator, author, and journalist. He has curated shows on subjects ranging from the Renaissance to contemporary art and has published numerous monographs. He has been the Director of the Museo Novecento in Florence since 2017.

Riccardo Bruscagli is Professor Emeritus in Italian Literature at the University of Florence. He has taught widely in American universities and in France.

Cristina Acidini is a widely published author and art historian. She has directed restorations of major importance and has served on the boards of public and private art institutions in Florence.

Giorgio Bacci is Associate Professor of History of Contemporary Art at the Florence Unversità degli Studi.
