    • The oeuvre of a young aspiring artist
    • Reminiscence of De Stijl, Concrete Art and Constructivism
    Full Description

In his paintings, Nis Knudsen (b. 1989) works with planes of colour arranged in various configurations. While this approach is reminiscent of De Stijl, Concrete Art and Constructivism, the Hamburg-based artist succeeds to impressive effect in adding new dimensions to the field of classic abstraction. In the ambivalence of geometric precision, the human touch, and material carrier, Knudsen seeks out harmonies that are not fully apparent at first glance, despite their superficial simplicity. The publication Of Color and Composition provides insights into the artist’s work to date.

    Text in English and German.
