Leonardo Bezzola
Photographs 1948-2007
- A vivid photographic archive of Swiss and European art and everyday cultural life
The Swiss photographer Leonardo Bezzola has created a vast and manifold oeuvre over the past sixty years. It includes reportages and portraits, artistic impressions and documentary series. This new monograph investigates different aspects of Bezzola’s photography and his various ways of approaching his subjects, and documents his entire career. Bezzola’s looks at the Swiss artists Jean Tinguely and Bernhard Luginbühl and their work, his portraits of writers, images of the streets, canals and buildings of Venice, and other impressions of his journeys, racing cars and all kinds of objects: his black-and-white photography forms a panorama of Swiss and European art and everyday culture of half a century. The book is published to accompany an exhibition of Leonardo Bezzola’s work in Venice in Spring 2008. Text in English and German.
